BUILD
The Dockside Pavilion was an innovative tensile fabric structure designed to serve as a temporary venue for business, events, and the local community during the construction of the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre.
This lightweight, floating structure on Darling Harbour featured a painted steel truss system, topped with premium PVC-coated polyester fabric for the roof and translucent ETFE for the side walls. Engineered with durability, portability, low maintenance, and sustainability in mind, the structure was crafted from 100% recyclable materials.
An integrated LED lighting system added an immersive experience, transforming the pavilion into a dynamic space perfect for event branding and visual impact.
The portable nature of the Dockside Pavilion highlights the advantages of lightweight structures over conventional buildings. Once the venue is no longer required on the harbour, it offers flexibility for future relocations, embodying sustainability and versatility.
