BUILD
Fabric Structures was approached by clients seeking to create a modern, contemporary outdoor living space that seamlessly integrates with a new architectural steel build. The goal was to design a visually striking, efficient layout that optimised natural light and space while providing a tranquil retreat for family and guests.
Due to the site’s proximity to the ocean and exposure to harsh conditions, including extreme temperatures, UV radiation, and moisture, the chosen materials had to be highly resistant to corrosion. Collaborating with architects and engineers, we quickly realised the complexity of the project, as the design called for custom column and connection details that needed to be meticulously engineered to integrate with the steel structure of the home.
After extensive consultation, we proposed a Retractable Roof System that would meet both the aesthetic and functional requirements. The design team opted for a minimalist mono-pitch system to complement the modern architectural features of the home and the surrounding coastal environment. This custom solution not only enhances the home's usability but also adds a sleek, modern look, perfectly harmonising with the steel framework.
